Inaprubahan na ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) ang hirit ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na magsagawa ng nationwide mock election exercises sa December 29, 2021.

Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary at acting presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles, ito ay para masiguro na magkakaroon ng maayos, ligtas at epektibong eleksyon sa May 2022.

Una rito, sinabi ni Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez na totoong mga botante at Boards of Election Inspectors ang makikilahok sa mock elections.

Gagawin ang mock elections ng “end-to-end demonstration” o ang kabuuang proseso ng eleksyon.
