Mga ospital sa South Africa, naghahanda para sa ikaapat na wave ng COVID-19

Inihahanda ng gobyerno ng South Africa ang kanilang mga ospital kasunod ng ika-apat na wave ng COVID-19 cases dulot ng Omicron variant.

Ayon kay President Cyril Ramaphosa, karamihan sa mga naitalalang bagong kaso ng nakahahawang sakit sa siyam na probinsya ay Omicron variant.

Dahil dito, hinikayat ang publiko na magpabakuna laban sa COVID-19.

“South Africa now has sufficient supplies of vaccines, … vaccination is essential for our economic recovery because as more people are vaccinated more areas of economic activity will be opened up,” saad ni Ramaphosa.

Magpupulong ang gobyerno at National Coronavirus Command Council para rebyuhin ang estado ng pandemya at makapagdesisyon ng mga kakailanganing hakbang para sa publiko.

Unang na-detect ang Omicron variant sa southern Africa noong nakaraang buwan at nagdulot ito ng pagkaalarma sa iba’t ibang bansa.
