P1.1-B halaga ng mga pekeng produkto, nasabat sa Pasay City

Bilang bahagi ng kampanya laban sa smuggling, nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang humigit-kumulang P1.1 bilyong halaga ng mga pekeng produkto sa Pasay City.

Ikinasa ng BOC Intelligence Group (IG) Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Right Division (CIIS-IPRD) at BOC-Port of Manila (BOC-POM) ang operasyon sa Baclaran Wholesale Complex Corner F.B. Harrison at J. Fernando Streets sa Baclaran noong Lunes, November 29.

Sa bisa ng Letter of Authority (LOA) na inilabas ni BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, nagsagawa ng inspeksyon ang mga tauhan ng IG CIIS-IPRD, BOC-POM, at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa mga warehouse sa naturang lungsod.

Nadiskubre ng mga awtoridad ang posibleng possible Intellectual Property Right (IPR)-infringing goods at hinihinalang smuggled na produkto.

Saksi ang mga BOC examiner, miyembro ng IG CIIS-IPRD, at, nagsagawa ng inisyal na inventory sa mga produkto na may tatak na Victoria’s Secret, Birkenstock, Lacoste, Converse, Nike, Adidas, Jordan, Havaianas, Barbie, HP at iba pa.

Magkakasa ng imbestigasyon ang ahensya sa posibleng paglabag sa Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (RA 8293) at Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (RA 10863).
