Ex-presidential adviser nagpasaklolo sa SC sa arrest order ng Senado

Dumulog na si dating Presidential economic adviser Michael Yang sa Korte Suprema kaugnay sa pagpapa-aresto sa kanya ng Senado.

 

Sa kanyang petisyon, nais ni Yang na ipawalang bisa ng Korte Suprema ang arrest orders sa kanya na ipinalabas ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee noong Setyembre 7 at 10.

 

Inihain ni Yang ang petisyon sa pamamagitan ng kanyang abogadong si Raymond Fortun at nais din niya na ipawalang-bisa ang lookout bulletin na inilabas naman ng Bureau of Immigration.

 

Ipinagdiinan nito na may pang-aabuso sa bahagi ng Blue Ribbon Committee sa pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon ukol sa sinasabing overpriced COVID 19 essentials.

Ayon kay Yang kinikilala naman nila ang kapangyarihan ng komite ngunit tutol sila sa pagmamalabis nito.

 

“However, when such power is exercised with such grave abuse and, despite being confronted with the truth, refuses to believe the same, certiorari lies to reverse the effects of such abusive exercise,” ang nakasaad sa petisyon.

 

Sinabi naman ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III kaya na itong sagutin ng Legal Team ng Senado.
