Aalisin na sa Padre Faura St. sa Maynila ang gusali ng Korte Suprema.
Sa taong 2019 posibleng ilipat na ito sa Bonifacio Global City sa Taguig City ayon kay Supreme Court Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno at Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Sec. Butch Abad.
Popondohan ng DBM ng P1.28 bilyon ang pagbili ng lote na pagtatayuan ng gusali ng Mataas na Hukuman.
Sinabi ni Sereno na pinangakuhan na siya ng pamahalaan para sa nasabing pondo upang makalipat sila sa bagong gusali.
“I have already received the commitment of the government to fund the new Supreme Court building. We are grateful to the President for that commitment,” Ayon kay Sereno.
Samantala, sa text message ni Abad sa Inquirer sinabi nitong inaprubahan na ng gobyerno ang Multi Year Obligational Authority (MYOA) na nagkakahalaga ng P3.286 bilyon para sa itatayong bagong Supreme Court complex sa BGC.
Ang lote na kinatatayuan ngayon ng gusali ng Supreme Court sa Padre Faura ay pag-aari ng University of the Philippines.
