P1.28B travel allowance ng DENR ikinagulat ni Sen. Tito Sotto III

Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III nang mapansin na P1.28 bilyon ang inilaang travel allowance ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Pagdidiin ni Sotto sa deliberasyon sa P25.3 billion 2022 budget ng kagawaran, may regional offices ang DENR kayat sa kanyang palagay ay hindi na kinakailangan ang maraming pagbiyahe ng mga opisyal.

Nabanggit din nito na maari din naman na gamitin ng husto ng mga opisyal ng DENR ang teknolohiya, mobile phones at internet.

Paliwanag naman ni Sen. Cynthia Villar, ang sponsor ng budget ng DENR, ang kagawaran ay may 16 regional offices, 76 Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENRO), 142 Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENRO), dalawang line bureaus at  tatlong kawanihan na nasa ilalim ng pangangasiwa nito.

Sa pagtataya ni Villar, sa 275 tanggapan ng DENR at bawa isa ay may budget na P4.7 milyon sa susunod na taon.

“Precisely, there are 275 offices, which means regional offices are all over the country. Why do they have to travel?” tanong ni Sotto.

Ipinasa na lamang ni Sotto sa kanyang mga kapwa senador ang pagbusisi kung talagang kinakailangan ng napakalaking travel allowance ng DENR.
