Nasal spray, hindi gamot vs COVID-19 – FDA

Nilinaw ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) na hindi gamot kontra COVID-19 ang nasal spray.

Sa Laging Handa Public Briefing, sinabi ni FDA director general Eric Domingo na may ginagawa pang clinical trial ang nasal spray vaccines kontra COVID-19.

Habang hindi pa aprubado, sinabi ni Domingo na panglinis lamang ng ilong ang nasal spray at hindi maaring gamiting substitute na gamot kontra COVID-19.

“Mayroon din po actually’ng mga vaccine ‘no under clinical trial na panggamot for COVID-19. wala pa pong approved sa mga ito. Hinihintay pa po nating matapos ang mga trial nito para masabi talaga. Sa ngayon ang available lang po sa atin na mga nasal spray, mga ano lang po ito, mga panlinis ng ilong, pambigay nang konting proteksiyon pero sa panandaliang panahon lamang po iyon at hindi pa naman po sila talaga maaaring gamitin as pampalit sa mga gamot or bakuna kontra COVID,” pahayag ni Domingo.

“So iyon pong mga definite na mga vaccines or iyong treatments for COVID na nasal spray are still under clinical trial and we have to wait a little more before po maging available ito sa merkado,” dagdag ng opisyal.
