Mayayamang bansa, binanatan ni Pangulong Duterte dahil sa pagkamkam sa suplay ng COVID-19 vaccine

Binanatan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga mayayamang bansa dahil sa pangangamkam sa suplay ng bakuna kontra COVID-19.

Sa talumpati ng Pangulo sa ika-76 United Nations General Assembly, sinabi nito na nakadidismaya at pumuporma na ang mga mayayamang bansa na kumuha ng booster shots kontra COVID-19 gayung ang mga mahihirap na bansa ay naghihirap na makakuha ng suplay ng bakuna.

“The picture is bleak. It is a man-made drought of vaccines ravaging the poor countries. Rich countries hoard life-saving vaccines while poor nations wait for trickles,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

Nakagugulat aniya ang ginagawang pag-uugali ng mga mayayamang bansa at dapat na kondenahin ito.

“They now talk of booster shots, while developing countries consider half-doses just to get by. This is shocking beyond belief and must be condemned for what it is – a selfish act that can neither be justified rationally nor morally,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

Binigyang diin ng Pangulo na dapat na magkaroon ng patas at pantay na respeto sa bawat isa.

Sa ganitong paraan aniya, matutuldukan ang injustice at mabibigyan ng dignidad ang bawat isa.

Sa ngayon, nasa mahigit 18 milyong katao pa lamang ang fully vaccinated sa Pilipinas.

Malayo pa sa targert na 70 porsyento ng kabuuang 110 populasyon sa Pilipinas.
