PAL naghain ng bankruptcy

Naghain ng bankruptcy protection ang Philippine Airlines (PAL) sa Amerika.

Ito ay matapos malugi ang PAL at bawasan ang fleet size ng 25 percent dahil sa pandemya sa COVID-19.

Nabatid na umabot sa 655 milyonng dolyar ang na-raise  ng PAL mula sa may-ari na si Lucio Tan at lenders.

Umaasa ang PAL na ngayong nakapaghain na ng bankruptcy protection ang kompanya, makagagawa ito ng restructure at makapagre-reorganisa para makabangon sa gitna ng pandemya.

Tiniyak naman ng PAL na hindi maapektuhan ang flights operation dahil nakapaghain naman ng Chapter 11 creditor protecting proceedings sa Southern District ng New York.

Maghahain din ang PAL ng parallel filing for recognition sa Philippines sa ilalim ng Financial Insolvency and Rehabilitation Act of 2010.
