Blue Ribbon Committee hearing sesentro sa mga delay sa pagbibigay benepisyo sa medical frontliners – Gordon
Sinabi ni Senator Richard Gordon na sa pagkakaantala ng pagbibigay ng mga benepisyo sa medical frontliners sesentro ang pagdinig ngayon araw ng pinamumunuan niyang Blue Ribbon Committee ukol sa ‘mismanagement’ ng Department of Health (DOH) sa kanilang COVID 19 fund.
“We are calling this hearing because this is a very serious matter and we cannot just turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to this issue. Some of our health workers are not getting the right benefits and this problem has become so grave that they now mull mass resignation over lack of benefits,” ayon kay Gordon.
Nag-ugat ang pagdinig sa inilabas na obserbasyon ng Commission on Audit na may mga pagkakataon na hindi nakasunod ang DOH sa mga batas at regulasyon sa paghawak ng P67 bilyong halaga ng COVID 19 funds.
Bukod pa dito ang mga reklamo ng medical at health frontliners sa hindi pagbibigay sa kanila ng mga naitakdang benepisyo, gaya ng active hazard duty pay at special risk allowance.
Diin ni Gordon namamatay at nagkakasakit na ang health workers at demoralisado na rin sila dahil sa mga nangyayari sa kanilang mga benepisyo.
Sinabi pa ng senador na hindi natatapos ang responsibilidad ni Health Sec. Francisco Duque III sa pagpapalabas ng pondo dahil aniya dapat ay tiyakin nito na natatanggap ito ng mga health and medical frontliners.
Magsisimula mamayang alas-11 ng tanghali ang pagdinig ng komite.
