P48-M halaga ng pekeng sigarilyo, nasamsam sa Subic
Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Subic ang milyun-milyong halaga ng pekeng sigarilyo noong August 13, 2021.
Sa pamamagitan ng inilabas na Pre-lodgment Control Order (PLCO) ni Port of Subic District Collector Maritess Martin, isinailalim sa 100 porsyentong physical examination ang shipment.
Nagmula ang shipment sa Cambodia at naka-consign sa Shemala International Comml Equipment Wholesaling.
Lumabas na eksminasyon na naglalaman ang shipment ng 995 master cases ng sigarilyo na may tatak na Mighty, Fortune, Two Moon at Marlboro.
Tinatayang aabot sa P48 milyon ang halaga ng mga pekeng sigarilyo.
Naglabas naman ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) laban sa shipment dahil sa posibleng paglabag sa National Tobacco Administration (NTA) Memorandum Circular No. 03 series of 2004 at NTA Board resolution No. 079-2005 at Sec. 155 ng R.A. No. 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines) at Sec. 1400, na may koneksyon sa Section 1113 (f) ng Republic Act No. 10863 o the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
