Ilang transport development projects sa Agusan, Surigao nakatakdang pasinayaan ng DOTr
Nakatakdang pasinayaan ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade ang development projects sa Butuan Airport sa Agusan del Norte at Cantilan Port sa Surigao del Sur sa Huwebes, August 5.
Kasama si Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Jim Sydiongco, pangungunahan ng kalihim ang inauguration at ribbon cutting ceremonies ng runway asphalt overlay, passenger terminal building (PTB) rehabilitation works at Malasakit Hall ng Butuan Airport.
Ang pagtatapos ng Malasakit Hall ng naturang paliparan noong November 5, 2020 ay bahagi ng modernization and people-centered service delivery nito na magsisilbi bilang transient spot para sa mas komportableng pagbiyahe.
Mayroon itong clinic, childcare room, lounge, prayer room, washroom, at concession space.
Nakumpleto naman ang asphalt overlay ng runway nito at ang repair at repainting ng passenger terminal building (PTB) noong July 31.
Samantala, natapos na rin ang development projects sa Cantilan Port kabilang ang konstruksyon ng Reinforced Concrete (RC) Pier, back-up area, at port lighting system.
Pangungunahan naman nina Tugade at PPA General Manager Jay Santiago ang virtual inauguration ng nasabing pantalan.
“Ngayon, mas malawak, maganda, at matibay na ang Port of Cantilan. Nadoble na rin ang cargo-handling capacity nito,” pahayag ni Tugade.
Dagdag pa nito, “Dahil dito, mas maunlad na ang kalakalan at shipping operations sa Cantilan, pati na rin sa Carascal, Madrid, Carmen, at Lanuza sa Surigao del Sur.”
Inaasahang makatutulong ang Butuan Airport at Cantilan Port development projects para makapagbigay ng komportableng biyahe ang mga pasahero at maitaguyod ang local growth, turismo, at job generation.
