Commander ng 501st Brigade sa Sulu, nagbitiw matapos pugutan ng ulo ang isang Canadian hostage

Ang 501st Brigade ang siyang may operational control sa 32nd, 35th at 10th Infantry Battalion na nakabase sa lalawigan ng Sulu kung saan sinasabing nagkukuta ang mga miyembro ng bandidong grupo na Abu Sayyaf.

Ang naturang grupo ang siyang itinuturong pumugot sa Canadian hostage na si John Ridsdel kung saan ang ulo nito ay natagpuan sa harapan ng Jolo Municipal Hall Lunes ng gabi.

Sa kanyang liham sa pamunuan ng 5th Infantry Division, Commanding General, sinabi ni Arrojado na ang kanyang pagbibitiw sa puwesto bilang commander ng 501st Brigade ay “due to conflict of approach of addressing the ASG threats in Sulu.”

Noong April 5, pinalitan si Arrojado bilang commander ng Joint Task Group Sulu ni 1ist Infantry Division at Task Force ZamBaSulTa commander Major general Gerardo Barrientos.

Gayunman, pinanatili si Arrojado bilang commander ng 501st Brigade.
