10 priority bills tutukan ng Senado sa pagpapatuloy ng sesyon sa 18th Congress

Sa nalalabing panahon ng 18th Congress, gayundin sa mga huling buwan ng termino ni Pangulong Duterte, pagsusumikapan ng Senado na ipasa ang tinukoy ng 10 ‘priority bills.’

Bubuksan ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III ang unang sesyon at babanggitin niya ang mga panukalang-batas na prayoridad na maipasa.

Kabilang sa 10 priority bills ang mga panukalang amyenda sa Foreign Investment Acts (FIA), Public Service Act (PSA), Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery (GUIDE), Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act, Package 4 of the Comprehensive Tax Reform Program (CTRP) o ang Passive Income Tax and Financial Intermediary Tax Act (PIFITA), Virology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines (VIP), Rural Agricultural and Fisheries Development Financing System Act (Agri-Agra) at ang Package 3 ng CTRP o ang Valuation Reform Bill.

Una na rin binanggit naman ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri ang pagpasa din sa Modernization of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Increasing the Statutory Rape Age Act, Military and Uniformed Personnel Insurance Fund Act, Philippine Center for Disease Control and Prevention Act, at ang Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Extension Law at bukod sa Bayanihan 3.

Ilan sa mga nabanggit na panukala ay isasalang na sa 3rd and final reading at inabot na lang ng pagsasara ng 2nd Regular Session.
