P849 milyon na standby fund inilaan ng pamahalaan para sa mga apektado ng Habagat

Mahigpit na minomonitor ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang ang sitwasyon sa bansa na ngayon ay nakararanas ng malakas na ulan dahil sa Southwest Monsoon o Habagat.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, nakahanda na ang standby funds ng Department of Social Welfare and Development na aabot sa P849 milyon at prepositioned goods na nagkakahalaga ng P169 milyon.

“We are closely monitoring the weather situation, especially flood-prone and landslide-prone areas, where heavy rainfall warning brought by the southwest monsoon has been raised,” pahayag ni Roque.

Sinabi pa ni Roque na mayroon din non food items na nagkakahalaga ng P676 milyon.

“The Department of Social Welfare and Development Central Office and Field Offices have standby funds amounting to P849.5-M and prepositioned goods amounting to P169.18-M.  Also, there are other food and non-food items amounting to P676.5-M.  These are readily available to augment the resources of the local government units (LGUs).   As to assistance provided, the LGUs have initially extended assistance to affected families in Orion and Samal, Bataan, San Antonio, Zambales and in Balbalan, Kalinga,” pahayag ni Roque.

Sa pinakahuling talaan ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), umabot na sa 3,316 pamilya o 14,023 na indibidwal ang inilikas.

Nakaranas naman ng power interruption ang anim na siyudad habang ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ay nagsasagawa na ng clearing operations sa Brgy Sta Rosa sa Alaminos, Laguna at Igdalaquit sa Tobias Fornier, Antique.

Mayroon ding clearing operations sa Pag-asa, Sablayan sa Occidental Mindoro; Embrangga-an sa Barbaza, Antique; Loacan at Virac sa Itogon, Benguet; Alno, La Trinidad sa Benguet; Taloy Sur sa Tuba, Benguet.
