Underspending ng PNP sa kanilang anti-insurgency fund pinuna ng ilang senador
Sinabi ni Senate Minority Leader Frank Drilon na ang paggamit ng PNP ng 12 porsiyento lang ng kanilang anti-insurgency ay patunay na hindi kailangan ang P19.2 bilyon anti-insurgency fund ngNational Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
Base sa ulat ng Commission on Audit (COA), P86.568 milyon lang sa P722-95 milyon na bahagi ng PNP sa pondo ng NTF-ELCAC ang nagasta.
“The COA finding is proof that the government did not need the P19.2 billion anti-insurgency fund lodged under the NTF-ELCAC this year and, more so, it is proof that we do not need to give a single centavo to the NTF-ELCAC for 2022,” diin ni Drilon.
Aniya may sapat na pondo para sa counter-insurgency at malaking bahagi nito ang hindi nagagasta.
Paniwala ng senador hindi na kailangan pang pondohan ang NTF-ELCAC sa susunod na taon at makakabuti na idagdag na lang ang pera sa pagtugon ng gobyerno sa pandemya.
“To insist on anti-insurgency funding in the 2022 national budget in the light of the COA findings will bolster suspicion that the NTF-ELCAC is a huge campaign kitty,” sabi pa ni Drilon.
Ayon naman kay Senate President Vicente Sotto III malinaw na may mali at aniya aalamin nila ito sa Senado.
