OFW na may pekeng pagkakakilanlan, nahuli sa Pampanga
Naaresto ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang biktima ng human trafficking na may pekeng pagkakakilanlan.
Nagmula ang biktima sa Cotabato at bibiyahe sana sa pamamagitan ng Qatar Airways flight No. QR 931 sa Clark International Airport para magtrababo bilang household service worker (HSW) sa Doha, Qatar.
Batay sa ulat nina Travel Control and Enforcement Unit (TCEU) Officers Johnel Badua at Marc Danes Diego, dumaan ang biktima sa primary inspection at ni-refer para sa secondary inspection matapos mapansin ang hindi pare-parehong pahayag.
Unang sinabi ng biktima na 27-anyos na siya at nai-deploy ng isang Philippine Overseas Employment Administration-accredited agency bilang HSW.
Hindi pareho ang pahayag ng biktima nang tanungin sa kaniyang mga personal na detalye.
Matapos ang inspeksyon, inamin nito ang tunay niyang pangalan at sinabing 24-anyos pa lamang siya.
“These human traffickers go as far as providing their victims documents that assume the identity of others,” saad ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente at aniya, “This has to stop.They are taking advantage of our kababayan in the midst of a pandemic.”
Agad aniyang dinala ang biktima sa Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) para sa mas malalim na imbestigasyon sa recruiter.
“We pray that cases of these victims push through so that those who victimize the vulnerable will find themselves facing the harshest penalties to finally end this modus,” aniya.
