Inanunsiyo ni Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar na ilang aktibidad na lang ang kailangang tapusin bago buksan sa publiko ang bagong Estrella Pantaleon Bridge sa Hulyo.
Ayon sa kalihim, tututukan na ng kagawaran ang pagkumpleto sa approach road ng tulay at iba pang miscellaneous works papasok sa final phase ng proyekto sa mga susunod na linggo.
Sa ngayon, 93 porsyento nang tapos ang naturang tulay.
Sinabi ni Villar na mataas ang posibilidad na maabot ng DPWH ang target na pagbubukas nito sa susunod na buwan.
Sa report sa kalihim, sinabi ni Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil Sadain na ang pagsasagawa ng approach road sa bahagi ng Makati at Mandaluyong ang kukumpleto para mapagdugtong ang main at approach bridge.
“As we wrap up the works, we’d like to thank the motorists, affected stakeholders in the project area, and the local government units for their continued patience and support to this Build, Build, Build project of the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration to decongest EDSA traffic,” pahayag ni Villar.
Sa gitna ng pandemya, tiniyak ng DPWH ang pagpapatupad ng mga panuntunan upang manatiling ligtas mula sa COVID-19 ang mga construction worker.
