Bahagi ng government ‘right of way’ ipagagamit ng DPWH sa expansion at pagtatayo ng pasilidad ng mga telco
Nagpasalamat ang National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa pagpayag nitong magamit ng telecommunication companies ang mga bahagi ng Right of Way (ROW) ng gobyerno para sa pagpapabuti ng internet service sa bansa.
Batay sa DPWH Department Order (DO) No. 29, series 2021 o “DPWH Policy on Telecommunications and Internet Infrastructure Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) NO. 11494, ‘Bayanihan to Recover as One Act’” pinadali din ang pag-apruba ng permit requirements mula sa mga telco.
Ang pagproseso ay mas pinabilis din at mas bumaba din ang binabayarang fees.
“DPWH’s move was a great stride towards providing Filipinos the much-needed connectivity especially during this pandemic.” ayon kay NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba.
Sinabi ni Cordoba na sa pamamagitan ng nilagdaang kasunduan ng NTC, DPWH at DICT ay natugunan ang mga usapin sa DPWH DO No. 73, series 2014 na nagbabawal sa paggamit ng Right-of-Way sa mga sakop ng national roads.
Sa ilalim ng naturang Department Order ng DPWH napabilis pa ang expansion ng telco services at mga pasilidad sa loob ng tatlong taon.
Welcome development din para sa PLDT, Globe, Converge at DITO ang bagong DO ng DPWH.
Ayon sa mga telco, makatutulong ito para mapabilis ang pagpapatupad ng kanilang infrastructure projects lalo na sa mga national roads.
