Barko, sumadsad sa Surigao del Norte; 20 crew members, nawawala

Rumesponde ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) sa isang maritime incident sangkot ang LCT Cebu Great Ocean na sumadsad sa baybaying sakop ng Barangay Cantapoy sa Malimono, Surigao del Norte bandang 03:38, Lunes ng hapon.

Ayon sa PCG Station Surigao del Norte, nawawala umano ang 20 crew members ng nasabing barko.

Base sa inisyal na imbestigasyon, may kargang nickel ore ang LCT Cebu Great Ocean at mayroong 2,000 litro ng diesel.

Agad nag-deploy ang PCG Station Surigao del Norte ng deployable response group para hanapin ang crew members.

Nakipag-ugnayan na rin ang ahensya sa Marine Environmental Protection Unit (MEPU) ng PCG District North Eastern Mindanao upang makapagsagawa ng inspeksyon dahil sa posibleng oil spill sa lugar.

Katuwang na rin ng PCG Station Surigao del Norte ang Surigao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) at Malimono Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) para sa mga kakailanganing aksyon.

Bandang 7:30, Lunes ng gabi, pansamantalang inihinto ang search and rescue (SAR) operation dahil sa poor visibility at hindi maayos na kondisyon ng dagat.

Samantala, naglabas na ang PCG Station Surigao del Norte ng ‘Notice to Mariners’ para sa posibleng pagkakahanap sa mga umano’y nawawalang crew member ng LCT Cebu Great Ocean.
