Utang ng Philhealth sa mga ospital, bayaran na–Senador Bong Go
Kinakalampag ni Senador Bong Go ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation na madaliin na ang pagbabayad sa mga utang sa mga ospital.
Ayon kay Go, chairman ng Senate committee on Health, ito ay para mapadali ang pagresponde sa mga pasyenteng tinatamaan ng pandemya sa COVID-19.
“As the primary health insurance provider of millions of Filipinos, it is important that PhilHealth adapts to the current challenges the country is facing today,” pahayag ni Go.
“For faster recovery, PhilHealth should be more proactive by anticipating the needs of Filipinos even before they avail treatment and expand the coverage of its health insurance schemes accordingly,” dagdag ng Senador.
Nababahala si Go sa ulat na maraming mahihirap na Filipino ang nahihirapan na makakuha ng maayos na healthcare service dahil sa pandemya.
“Gaya po ng parating sinasabi ko sa inyo, ipaglalaban ko na patuloy ma-implementa ang Universal Health Care Law at maisaayos ang operasyon ng PhilHealth,” dagdag ng Senador.
Hinihimok ni Go ang Philhealth na palawigin pa ang coverage nito sa mga pasyente nan aka-admit sa mga tents at makeshift facilities dahil punuan na ang mga ospital.
“Sa PhilHealth, huwag po natin pabayaan ‘yung mga may sakit na hindi na nga ma-admit sa ospital dahil punuan, may dagdag na gastos pa habang admitted sa tents kaya parte ‘yan dapat ng coverage,” dagdag ni Go.
Base sa ulat ni Philhealth President Dante Gierran kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, P91.4 bilyon na ang nabayaran ng Philheath sa mga ospital noong 2020.
Aabot sa P3.7 bilyon na halaga ng mga claims ang pino-proseso pa ngayon ng Philhealth habang P5.2 bilyon naman ang sumasailalim sa validation.
