Pagtatayo ng bike lanes, pinamamadali ng mga kongresista sa DPWH

Inusisa ng mga kongresista ang mga opisyal ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa kanilang timeline sa construction ng bike lanes sa buong bansa.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Transportation, partikular na tinanong ni House Minority leader Joseph Stephen Paduano kung kayang tapusin ang bike lanes sa Metro Manila gayung nasa apat na porsyento pa lamang ang nagagawa.

Duda si Paduano at maging si Samar Rep. Edgar Sarmiento, chairman ng komite, kung kayang tapusin ang mahigit 300 kilometrong bike lanes sa NCR hanggang Hunyo.

Sagot naman ni DPWH-NCR assistant director Judy Cordon, 13.8 porsyento pa lang ng bike lanes ang nakumpleto dahil kinailangan nilang dumaan sa serye ng konsultasyon sa iba pang concerned agencies.

Pero gagawin aniya nila ang lahat para matapos ang construction sa loob ng tatlong buwan.

Inaprubahan ng komite ang panukala para sa paglikha ng bicycle lanes.

Inatasan naman ni Sarmiento ang DPWH at maging nag DOTr na isumite ang specifics ng 522 kilometers ng bike lanes na itatayo sa NCR, Metro Cebu at Metro Davao.
