2 nabakunahang OFW sa Cebu City, nagpositibo sa COVID-19

Positibo sa COVID-19 ang dalawang overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na nabakunahan ng bakuna kontra sa nakakahawang sakit sa pinagmulang bansa.

Ayon sa Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH CVCHD), dumating ang unang kaso sa Mactan, Cebu noong January 5, 2021 mula sa United Arab Emirates.

Nakatanggap ang OFW ng dalawang dose ng COVID-19 vaccine sa UAE noong December 12, 2020 at January 2, 2021.

Pagdating sa Mactan, sumailalim sa mandatory quarantine ang OFW at pinalabas noong January 20.

Dumaan naman sa RT-PCR testing ang OFW noong February 5 bilang requirement upang makabalik sa kaniyang trabaho.

Lumabas na positibo ang OFW ngunit nananatili itong asymptomatic.

Samantala, isang 25-anyos na babaeng OFW naman ang ikalawang kaso na nagmula sa Canada.

Unang tumanggap ng bakuna ang OFW noong January 13.

Dumating sa Mactan ang OFW noong February 5 at agad sumailalim sa quarantine.

Lumabas sa swab test na positibo sa nakakahawang sakit ang OFW ngunit asymptomatic din.

“Both cases stress the importance of vaccines in preventing severe and clinical disease,” ayon sa DOH CVCHD.

Noong February 8, nabuo na ng CVCHD ang guidelines sa pagdating ng returning overseas Filipinos na nabakunahan na mula sa mga iba’t ibang bansa.

“The implementation of these protocols has facilitated the recovery of these two OFWs,” pahayag nito.
