P18.96-M halaga ng marijuana, nasabat sa Tarlac; Anim timbog
Nasamsam ng mga awtoridad ang P18.96 milyong halaga ng marijuana sa ikinasang joint anti-illegal drug operations sa Concepcion, Tarlac Huwebes ng umaga.
Base sa isinumiteng ulat ni Police Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon kay Philippine National Police Chief General Debold Sinas, sanib-pwersa ang PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit ng Tarlac PPO at Concepcion Municipal Police Station, katuwang ang PDEA Tarlac, sa operasyon sa bahagi ng San Francisco.
Timbog ang anim na drug suspects na sina Marlon Miranda, 34-anyos; Joey Palaeyan, 33-anyos; Preddie Letta, 35-anyos; Carl Andrei Maico, 22-anyos; Via Jean Ortiga, 19-anyos; at Lorraine Fulgencio, 23-anyos.
Unang nahuli sina Miranda at Palaeyan matapos magbenta sa isang poseur buyer ng 25 bricks ng hinihinalang dried marijuana leaves na may estimated street value na P3 milyon.
Naaresto naman ang apat na iba pa habang nakikipagtransaksyon sa drug peddlers.
Ang mga drug suspect ay pinaniniwalaang nag-ooperate ng drug transactions sa Northern at Central Luzon.
“Further investigation revealed that these suspects are actively engaged in the Illegal drug trade activities, specifically Marijuana within Region 1 and 3,” pahayag ni Sinas.
Nakumpiska sa mga suspek ang 158 bricks o 158 kilo ng hinihinalang dried marijuana leaves, hiwalay na limang hinihinalang dried marijuana leaves na may fruiting tops na nagkakahalaga ng P600,000, limang pirasong P1,000 bill na ginamit bilang buy-bust money kasama ang 145 pirasong boodle money, isang cell phone, isang unit ng Toyota Altis na may plakang BTK777, isang Vivo cellphone, at 100 rounds ng 5.56 ammunition.
“Recent accomplishments against drug syndicates manifest the responsiveness of PNP units to the the national government’s campaign against illegal drugs and criminality,” dagdag ng PNP chief.
Dinala ang mga naarestong drug suspect at nasabat na ebidensya sa PNP provincial drug enforcement unit habang inaayos ang mga isasampang reklamo laban sa mga ito.
