Programa ng PhilHealth, hindi dapat maapektuhan ng pagpapahinto sa contribution hike

Nais masiguro ni Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo na hindi apektado ang mga programa ng PhilHealth sa pagsuspinde sa contribution hike nito.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Health, sinabi ni Quimbo na sapat ang P163-billion reserve fund ng state health insurer para gamitin sa iba pa nitong mga programa.

Kapag masuspinde ang premium rate hike, aabot lamang aniya sa P433 million ang mawawala sa P86.8 billion target collection ng PhilHealth sa kanilang direct contributors.

Kaya aniyang punuan ng ilang bilyong reserve fund ang forgone collection na ito at para tiyakin na hindi mailalagay sa alanganin ang financial viability ng PhilHealth.

Binigyan diin ni Quimbo na kaya mayroong reserve fund upang may magamit ang PhilHealth sa panahon na maikukonsidera bilang “rainy days.”
