Bilang ng health workers na naserbisyuhan ng libreng sakay program ng DOTr, umabot na sa 2 milyon

Pumalo na sa mahigit 2 milyon ang bilang ng naserbisyuhan ng “Libreng Sakay” o Free Ride Service for Health Workers program ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayon kay DOTr Road Transport and Infrastructure Assistant Secretary Mark Steven Pastor, hanggang January 7, nasa 2,001,461 ang total ridership sa buong bansa.

Ikinalugod aniya nila ito dahil sa patuloy na pagtitiwala ng health workers.

“Mahigpit pong bilin ng ating mahal na Kalihim, si Secretary Tugade, na huwag na huwag pong pababayaan ang ating mga health workers na patuloy na naglilingkod at lumalaban upang mapigilan ang pagkalat, at nang tuluyang masugpo ang COVID-19,” pahayag ni Pastor.

Sa nasabing total ridership, nakapagtala sa National Capital Region (NCR)-Greater Manila Area ng 554,625 ridership simula nang ikasa ang operasyon noong March 18, 2020.

Mula sa tatlo, umabot na sa 20 ruta ang sakop sa NCR-Greater Manila Area.

Samantala sa ibang rehiyon, kabuuang 1,446,836 health workers ang naserbisyuhan ng free ride services na alok ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Kabilang ang mga sumusunod na bus company sa naturang programa: HM Transport, Jasper Jean, Ceres Transport/Goldstar, Philtranco, RRCG Transport at Jac Liner/ Dagupan Bus.

Nakasama rin ang iba pang bus companies tulad ng San Agustin, MetroExpress, Precious Grace Transport, St. Rose Transit, Hafti Transport, G-Liner, Manrose, Pilipinas Autogroup, Beep, Mitsubishi Motors, Elmer Francisco Industries, Isuzu Philippines, Foton Motors, Suzuki, MERALCO e-Sakay, Lucena Lines, Pangasinan Five Star Bus Co., Inc., City Bus, Star Bus, Earthstar Express, Inc., Gell Transport, at Jam Liner, Diamond V8, Pascual Liner, Pamana Transport, UBE Express, DLTB, Genesis, Hi-Star, Thelman Transit, Star8, Megaworld Corp. (Citylink), Hino, Hyundai, uHop, at Toyota Motor Philippines.

Nagbigay naman ng fuel subsidy ang Petron Corporation, Phoenix Petroleum, CleanFuel, Total Philippines, at SeaOil Philippines.

Tiniyak naman ng DOTr na istriktong ipinatutupad ang health and sanitation protocols aa naturang programa para sa health workers.
