P79.15-M halaga ng smuggled na sigarilyo, sinira ng BOC

Sinira ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Batangas ang P79.51 milyong halaga ng smuggled na sigarilyo noong December 5 hanggang 6 at December 8, 2020.

Ito ay alinsunod sa mandato ng ahensya na pagtibayin ang border protection upang maiwasan ang pagpasok ng mga ilegal na produkto sa bansa.

Winasak ang mga smuggled na sigarilyo sa isang destruction facility sa bahagi ng Greenleaf 888 Waste Disposal sa Purok 1 sa Barangay Mitla, Porac, Pampanga.

Dumating ang mga shipment sa Port of Batangas mula China noong October 12 at idineklara bilang laptop bags.

Inalerto ang kargameto noong October 13 base sa derogatory information na natanggap ng Port ng Batangas.

Dahil dito, inisyu ang Warrant of Seizure and Detention kasunod ng rekomendasyon ni Acting District Collector Atty. Ma. Rhea Gregorio bunsod ng paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

Kasama sa condemnation ceremony ang mga representante mula sa PMFTC Inc., JTI Law Firm, Intelligence Group (IG), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Assessment & Operation Coordinating Group-Assessment Coordination and Monitoring Division (AOCG-ACMD), Enforcement & Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence & Investigation Service (CIIS) at Office of the District Collector (ODC)-Port of Batangas.
