Metro Manila mayors inirekomendang panatilihin ang pag-iral ng GCQ hanggang katapusan ng 2020

Inirekomenda ng Metro Manila mayors sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases ang pagpapanatili ng general community quarantine (GCQ) status sa Metro Manila hanggang sa katapusan ng 2020.

Ayon kay Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez, pinuno ng Metro Manila Council (MMC), resulta ito ng kanilang pagpupulong kasama ang mga miyembro ng IATF Linggo ng gabi.

Sinabi ni Olivares na ang rekomendasyon ng MMC ay layong maiwasan ang pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19 o pagkakaroon ng second wave dahil sa holiday season.

Sa ngayon maliban sa Metro Manila, ang GCQ ay umiiral din sa Batangas, Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Tacloban City, Iligan City, Lanao del Sur at Davao City.

Ang iba pang bahagi ng bansa ay nasa modified GCQ status.
