San Miguel Corp., tutulungan ang mga LGU para makapaglagay ng recycled plastics bike lanes

Makikipagtulungan ang San Miguel Corporation (SMC) sa mga lokal na pamahalaan upang makapaglagay ng recycled plastics bike lanes.

Bahagi ito ng pagpapalawig ng SMC sa paggamit nila ng environment-friendly material.

Ayon kay SMC president at chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang handa nilang tulungan ang mga LGU na payag maglagay ng dedicated bike lanes sa kanilang nasasakupan.

“It has almost been a year since we started our plastic road initiative and so far, our pilot site has held up very well. It’s in our logistics facility—used heavily everyday by large vehicles with heavy loads. Very soon, I think we can graduate it for light public use, specifically, for bicycle lanes,” ayon kay Ang.

Sinabi ni Ang dahil sa social distancing at restrictions sa mga pampublikong transportasyon ay marami ngayon ang nagbibisikleta patungo sa kanilang pinapasukang trabaho.

“Our roads are not designed with cyclists in mind. What we hope to do is work with LGUs and technology partners to come up with solutions for people on bikes that are safe and cost-efficient,” dagdag ni Ang.
