Na-repatriate na overseas Filipinos, umabot na sa 245,954

Umabot na sa 245,954 na overseas Filipinos (OFs) ang na-repatriate simula nang magpauwi ng mga Filipinong apektado ng COVID-19, ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Naitala ang nasabing datos mula February hanggang November 8.

Sinabi ng kagawaran na aabot sa 8,591 ang napauwing overseas Filipinos sa unang linggo ng Nobyembre.

Nakabiyahe ang overseas Fililjnos mula sa Middle East (6,947 OFs), Asia-Pacific (948 OFs) at Europe (693 OFs) sa pamamagitan ng 39 special commercial repatriation flights.

Matagumpay ding naisagawa ang medical repatriation ng overseas Filipinos mula sa Cuba, Brunei, Pakistan, at Bahrain.

Napauwi rin ng Pilipinas ang mga biktima ng trafficking-in-persons sa Damascus, Syria sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Embassy sa Damascus.

Sinabi ng kagawaran na patuloy pa rin ang repatriation sa mga nais umuwi ng Pilipinas.

Inabisuhan ng DFA ang sinumang OF na nais makauwi ng Pilipinas ay maaaring ipagbigay-alam sa embahada o konsulado sa kanilang lugar.
