Endangered turtle, nasagip sa Palawan

Nai-turnover ang isang Southeast Asian Box Turtle sa Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD), araw ng Miyerkules, November 4.

Nasagip ang pagong sa bayan ng Aborlan ng isang concerned citizen na si Kyle Ong noong October 29, 2020 bandang 3:00 ng hapon.

Ang pagong ay may habang 20 centimeters, may lapad na 20 centimeters at may bigat na 800 gramo.

Ayon sa PCSD, sinabi ni Ong na nagtamo ang pagong ng minor crack matapos matamaan ng isang sasakyan.

Tinago ni Ong ang pagong upang matiyak ang kaligtasan nito at saka dinala sa PCSD.

“The said turtle is ready to be released in the wild anytime soon,” ayon sa PCSD.

Ang Southeast Asian Box Turtle ay kabilang sa “endangered” species sa ilalim ng PCSD Resolution No. 15-521.
