Walang bayad sa utang, walang testing – Red Cross Chairman Gordon

Hindi natinag si Senator Richard Gordon, na siya rin chairman ng Philippine Red Cross, sa anunsiyo ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na babayaran ng gobyerno ang halos P1 bilyon utang ng Philhealth para sa mga isinagawang swab tests.

Hindi kinuhang garantiya ni Gordon ang naging pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte.

Diin ni Gordon dapat ay bayaran muna ng Philhealth ang higit P930 milyon utang nito sa Red Cross bago nila muling ipagpapatuloy ang swab testing sa mga miyembro ng PhilHealth.

“They should pay the whole amount. Because that’s difficult. We’ll be left in the air. They’ll pay in half, leaving a balance of half a billion pesos — what will happen? That amount is going to increase again,” sabi ni Gordon sa pagharap niya sa media.

Gustong-gusto din aniya nila na ituloy ang pagsasagawa ng swab test ngunit wala silang sapat na pondo para bumili ng testing kits gayundin para mabayaran ang kanilang mga empleyado.

Sinabi pa ni Gordon na dahil nabawasan ang kanilang COVID-19 testing kalahati ng bilang ng kanilang medical technicians at empleado ang hindi na pumapasok.

Diin nito, ipinagtataka niya dahil may pera naman ang gobyerno ngunit hindi mabayaran ng PhilHealth ang utang sa PRC.
