Iba pang reporma pinag-aaralan ng Kamara para makamit ang “20-20-20” economic modernization

Pinag-aaralan ngayon ng House Ways and Means Committee ang ibang mga reporma upang makamit ang “20-20-20” economic modernization target bago matapos ang taong 2020.

Ayon kay Albay Rep. Joey Sarte Salceda, pinuno ng komite, kritikal ang mga hakbang na ito para matiyak ang competitiveness ng Pilipinas sa mas globalized na ekonomiya.

Kabilang sa hakbang na nais gawin ng pamahlaan ay ang tinawag nitong “do-or-die” goals tulang ng gawing 20 percent ang corporate income tax, magkaroon ng 20 million na bago o upgraded high-skills jobs sa susunod na 10 taon, at makapagpasok ng $20 billion na annual foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows.

Mahalaga ayon kay Salceda na masimulan ito bago matapos ang 2020 kung nais na makamit ang hangarin sa susunod na 10 taon.

Para makalikom anya ang Pilipinas ng $20 billion na taunang FDIs ay malaking tulong ang pag-apruba sa Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE).

Dapat ngayon pa lamang aniya ay pinapalakas na rin ang workforce ng bansa upang matiyak na “digital-ready” ang mga ito sa pamamagitan nang pagpasa sa “21st Century Skills Act,” “Financial Technology Industry Development Act,” “Digital Economy Taxation Act,” “Satellite Liberalization Act,” “Faster Internet Act,” at Comprehensive Education Reform Agenda.
