Filipino seafarers na na-stranded sa barko sa China nakauwi na sa bansa

Dumating na sa bansa ang labinganim na seafarers na na-stranded sa China dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Ala 1:30 ng madaling araw ngayong Martes (Sept. 29) nang dumating sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport ang chartered flight na sinakyan ng mga Pinoy.

Kabilang sa sa dumating ang 11 seafarers mula sa Ocean Star 86 na na-stranded sa Dongshan mula March 2020.

Nakauwi na din ang 5 pang seafarers ng M/V Maria P. na na-stranded naman sa Ningde simula July 2020.

Ang dalawang barko ay parehong Chinese fishing vessels na naapektuhan ng “no disembarkation” policy sa China.

Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Lou Y. Arriola, mayroon ding 3 land-based OFWs mula China ang kasabay na dumating.
