11 overstaying Chinese nationals, ipinasama sa Immigration blacklist

Ipinag-utos ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na mapasana sa blacklist ng ahensya ang 11 Chinese nationals dahil sa pagiging overstaying nito.

Inilabas ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente ang direktiba matapos ipag-utos ang pagpapa-deport sa mga dayuhan nito at mabigyan ng penalty.

“These aliens are now barred from re-entering the Philippines for violating the conditions of their stay… They were allowed to come here by availing a visa upon arrival (VUA), yet they abused that privilege by overstaying without valid reason and justification at all,” pahayag ni Morente.

Ayon sa ahensya, dumating ang 11 Chinese nationals sa magkakahiwalay na petsa noong November at December 2019 at January 2020 at overstaying na ang mga dayuhan nang siyam hanggang 10 buwan.

Naunang pumunta ang mga dayuhan sa BI main office sa Maynila para mag-apply sa pag-update ng kanilang pananatili nang makita ng visa officers ang paglabag ng mga ito.

Sa ilalim ng batas, hindi maaaring payagang mapalawig ang pananatili ng VUA grantees nang higit pa sa 30 araw.

Sinuspinde ng ahensya ang implementasyon ng VUA noong January kasunod ng banta sa COVID-19.

Sa ngayon, sinabi ng BI na nananatili itong suspendido kasabay ng kinakaharap na pandemya.
