Cashless transactions, ipatutupad na sa EDSA Busway System gamit ang BeepTM Cards simula Oct. 1
Magpapatupad na ang Department of Transportation (DOTr), sa pamamagitan ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ng cashless transaction system gamit ang BeepTM Cards sa public utility buses (PUBs) ng EDSA Busway System simula sa October 1.
Ayon kay DOTr Assistant Secretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Steve Pastor, bahagi ito ng karagdagang safety measures ng kagawaran para maiwasan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 sa mga pampublikong transportasyon.
“This will also complement other safety and health protocols already enforced by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases on PUVs, such as the required social distancing, and mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields to board,” pahayag ni Pastor.
Hinihikayat din ng LRTFB ang mga pasahero ng EDSA Busway na bumili ng kanilang Beep cards at maglagay ng load upang hindi maabala sa pagbabayad oras na ipatupad ang automated fare collection system.
“As we are removing other potential health risks, we also want to limit the time spent in queues and lines that come with having to do cash payments,” ayon kay LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra.
“We are envisioning that even more public transport vehicles adopt digital transactions means, either through QR codes, online payments or tying up with cashless payment providers such as Beep,” dagdag pa nito.
Ginagamit na ang stored-value contactless cards sa LRT-1, LRT-2, MRT-3, at maging sa ilang Point-to-Point (P2P) buses at modern Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) sa bansa.
Para makapag-load, maaaring pumunta sa LRT at MRT stations, FamilyMart at Ministop branches, Bayad Center o sa Over-the-Air (OTA) loading partners tulad ng BPI, Eon by Unibank, Akulaku, at Justpayto.
