Maaari nang magamit ng mga residente at turista ang ginagawang kalsada patungong Mt. Mayapay sa Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte, ayon sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Ayon kay DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, malaking tulong ang bagong kalsada para mga lokal na residente upang magkaroon ng mas maayos na access sa serbisyo ng gobyerno at kalakal.
“Significantly also, local residents who mostly belong to the Higaonon and Manobo tribes living in Mt. Mayapay as their ancestral domain, now have a more convenient access to basic government services and commodities giving them an opportunity for economic development and an improved way of life,” pahayag ng kalihim.
Magbibigay din ang 1.36 kilometer 2-lane road mula sa Buenavista-Bunaguit Road patungo sa paanan ng Mt. Mayapay ng mas ligtas at mabilis na biyahe ng mountaineers at hikers.
Aabot sa P29.3 milyon ang inilaang pondo para sa naturang proyekto.
Nagsimula ang road project noong August 2019 sa ilalim ng Tourism Road Infrastructure Program katuwang ang Department of Tourism (DOT) upang mapabuti ang access at connectivity sa tourism sites.
