Pangulong Duterte, dadalo sa United Nations General Assembly

Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, dadalo si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa United Nations General Assembly.

Ayon kay Chief Presidential Protocol Robert Borje, tatalakayin ng pangulo ang usapin sa COVID-19 at human rights.

“This will be the President’s first time to address the UN General Assembly, the main deliberative board of the UN where all the 193 member-states are represented,” pahayag ni Borje.

Tatalakayin din aniya ng pangulo ang usapin sa peace and security kasama na ang terrorism at geopolitical developments sa Asia Pacific, sustainable development and climate change, rule of law, justice and human rights.

Kabilang din sa tatalakayin ng pangulo ang kalagayan ng migrant workers at refugees pati na ang peacekeeping at United Nations reforms.

Matatandaang makailang beses nang nagbanta si Pangulong Duterte na magwi-withdraw na ang Pilipinas sa membership sa UN Human Rights Council dahil sa pakikialam sa kanyang anti-drug war campaign na nauwi na umano sa extrajudicial killings.
