P1.1-M halaga ng kush marijuana na nakatago sa coffee packs, nasabat ng BOC

Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark ang tatlong plastic packs ng Kush Marijuana na naghahalaga ng P1.1 milyon.

Ayon sa ahensya, itinago ang marijuana sa loob ng imported coffee packs na nagmula sa California, USA.

Dumating ang shipment noong September 8, 2020 at idineklara ito bilang “Coffee T-shirt Bookbag.”

Matapos ang isinagawang physical examination, natagpuan ang tatlong t-shirts, isang libro at tatlong pack ng coffee beans.

Ngunit sa gitna ng physical examination, napansin ng Customs Examiner ang anila’y “sweet aroma” ng coffee beans na naging dahilan para buksan ito.

Pagkabukas nito, nadiskubre ang tatlong sealed packs ng dried leaves na hinihinalang Kush Marijuana.

Nakumpirmang marijuana ang laman ng coffee packs matapos ang K-9 sniffing at laboratory testing at chemical analysis sa samples.

Dahil dito, inilabas ni District Collector Atty. Ruby Alameda ang Warrant of Seizure and Detention laban sa shipment dahil sa paglabag sa Sections 118 (g), 119 (d) at 1113 (f), (i) at (l) ng Republic Act No. 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) na may kinalaman sa Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Naiturn-over na rin ang marijuana sa PDEA para sa disposition.
