Pagdaragdag ng mga pumapasadang pampasaherong sasakyan iginiit ni Rep. Quimbo sa DOTr

Hinimok ni Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo ang Department of Transportation (DOTR) na dagdagan ang bilang ng mga public utility vehicles (PUVs) na pumapasada.

Sa pagdinig sa panukalang budget ng DOTr sa Kamara, sinabi ni Quimbo, kahit na bawasan ang physical distancing measure sa loob ng mga public transport ay nananatili pa rin sa 1.7 million ang estimated na stranded passengers dahil sa kakulangan ng masasakyan.

Ayon naman kay LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra, sa Metro Manila ay tumaas na sa 77,609 ang tumatakbong PUVs bunsod na rin ng dagdag na 17,000 na ruta ng traditional jeep.

Ipinagmalaki naman ng DOTR sa Kamara na 1.647 million ang maidadagdag na pasahero sa pagluwag ng physical distancing sa mga pampublikong transportasyon.

Paliwanag ni DOTR Asec. Steve Pastor, dalawang pasahero ang naidagdag sa mga bus na 2 by 2 ang seating habang dalawa hanggang walong pasahero naman ang dagdag para sa mga bus na mayroong 2 by 3 na seating arrangement.

Dagdag na dalawang pasahero din ang maisasakay sa modern jeep at tig-isa naman na dagdag para sa mga traditional jeep at UV Express.
