Japanese Coast Guard, nagkasa ng search and rescue ops sa 42 marino
Gumagamit na ang Japanese Coast Guard ng apat na rescue boats at dalawang eroplano para mahanap ang isang freighter at ang 42 pang tripulante sa dagat na sakop ng Amami Oshima sa Kagoshima prefecture.
Base sa impormasyon mula kay Beth Estrada, Philippine Labor attache sa POLO – Osaka, mga divers ng Special Rescue Team mula sa Haneda Airbase ang nagsasagawa ng search and rescue operations.

Nagmula sa Napier Port sa New Zealand ang freighter at puno ito ng mga baka na dadalhin dapat sa Port of Tangshan sa China.
Inabot ng Typhoon No. 9 ang barko at nagpadala pa ito ng distress signal, Martes ng umaga.
