Isang Pinoy crew member sa nawawalang barko sa Japan, nasagip na – DFA

Nasagip na ang isang Filipino crew member sa nawawalang Panamanian-flagged cargo vessel sa Japan.

Ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), na-rescue ang Pinoy ng mga Japanese Coast Guard.

Sa ngayon, nawawala pa rin ang nalalabing 38 Filipino crew members ng nasabing barko.

Nasa 43 crew members ang kabuuang bilang ng mga sakay ng barko, kung saan 39 ay mga Filipino.

“The Consulate General in Osaka is monitoring the situation and coordinating with the Japanese Coast Guard, which is launching a second search and rescue mission prior to the expected incoming typhoon,” ayon pa sa kagawaran.

Patuloy ding nakikipag-ugnayan ang DFA Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA) at Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) sa Osaka sa Korpil Ship Management and Manning Corp., ang local manning agency, para alamin ang kondisyon ng mga Filipino seafarer.

Matatandaang nagpadala ng distress call ang cargo vessel sa bahagi ng Amami Oshima Island sa Kagoshima Prefecture noong September 2.
