Pagsasampa ng mga kaso dahil sa ‘pastillas scheme,’ tanggap ng BI

Pabor ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa paghahain ng National Bureau of Investigation o NBI ng mga kaso laban sa 20 Immigration personnel sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport o NAIA dahil sa nabunyag na ‘pastillas scheme.’

“BI welcomes the filing of cases against BI personnel and they will be given the opportunity to defend themselves in the proper forum. We are one with the campaign of the government to get rid of corruption and make those erring personnel accountable before the court of law,” sabi ni Immigration spokesperson Melvin Mabulac.

Isinampa ang kasong paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act sa Office of the Ombudsman.

Sa modus, madaling nakakapasok ang Chinese nationals sa bansa kapalit ng P10,000 at para sila ay makapagtrabaho sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators o POGOs.

Ibinunyag ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros ang modus at aniya, tinawag ito na ‘pastillas scheme’ dahil ang pera na ibinabayad sa mga tiwalang Immigration personnel ay nakabalot sa puting bond paper.

Samantala, dinagdagan na ang security cameras sa NAIA bilang bahagi ng pag-monitor sa mga aktibidades ng mga tauhan ng kawanihan.
