BOC, naghain ng smuggling cases vs 4 na importer at broker

Naghain ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) Bureau’s Action Team Against Smugglers (BATAS) ng criminal complaints laban sa apat na importer at broker sa Department of Justice (DOJ).

Ito ay dahil sa umano’y paglabag sa Customs laws.

Ang unang kaso ay laban sa sole proprietor/owner ng Meraki Car Trading na si Emmanuel Sulit at customs broker nito na si Nicanor Sangcad.

Bunsod ito ng umano’y smuggling sa pamamagitan ng misdeclaration one-unit Renault black van sa Port of Manila noong February 16, 2020.

Inihain din ang kasong kriminal laban kay Lovely Joy Pandes, sole proprietor/owner ng Llorin Trading at customs broker na si Christelle Joyce Tabusares dahil sa misdeclaration ng isang kargamento na 1-unit McLaren 620R na dumating sa Port of Manila noong July 16, 2020.

Sangkot naman sa ikatlong kaso ang may-ari ng Flexhale Trading na si Denmark Locre at customs broker Debbie Mae Tria bunsod ng umano’y illegal importation and misdeclaration ng aluminum window frames and accessories.

Isinampa laban sa Flexhale ang dalawang bilang ng paglabag sa Section 1401 (e) na may kinalaman sa Sections 1400, 1113(f), 107, 405 at 412 ng Republic Act No. 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) at Article 172 na may kinalaman sa Article 171 ng Revised Penal Code (RPC).

Nagsampa rin ng kaso laban kay Chang Luy Mohammad dahil sa undeclared foreign currency na nagkakahalaga ng USD491,600.00.

Nakuha ito kay Mohammad sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport noong September 21, 2019.

Sinabi ng BOC na sa pamamagitan ng BATAS, marami pang kasong ihahain laban sa ilang importers, brokers, at iba pang indibidwal na sangkot sa smuggling at paglabag sa Customs laws, rules and regulations.
