PCG, nagdeklara ng red alert sa Southwestern Mindanao
Nagdeklara si Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral George Ursabia Jr. ng ‘red alert’ sa buong rehiyon ng Southwestern Mindanao.
Ito ay kasunod ng naganap na dalawang pagsabog sa Jolo, Sulu araw ng Lunes, August 24.
Sinabi ng PCG na kabilang sa nakataas sa red alert ang Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu, at Tawi-tawi.
“PCG personnel in the region are augmenting the forces of the AFP and PNP in investigating the incident specifically in identifying its perpetrators, as well as in responding to casualties and in ensuring the safety of the residents against succeeding threats,” ayon sa PCG.
Ipinag-utos din sa PCG K9 units, safety inspectors, at patrol boat operators na mas maging mapagmatyag sa pagbabantay sa mga pantalan, harbors, at iba pang waterways sa nasabing rehiyon.
Nakahanda na rin ang ilang K9 unit ng Coast Guard sakaling humiling ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
