PhilHealth premiums ng OFWs pinatatanggal ni Sen. Imee Marcos

Inihirit ni Senator Imee Marcos na permanente nang matanggal ang 3% premium ng OFWs sa Philhealth.

Kasabay nito ang hamon ng senadora kay Health Sec. Francisco Duque III na tuparin ang pangakong binitiwan sa pagdinig sa Senado noong nakaraang linggo na susuportahan ang anuman hakbangin para hindi na masingil ng Philhealth premium ang OFWs.

Pinababawi na lang ni Marcos ang mga nalustay na pondo ng Philhealth sa overpayments sa hospital reimnbursements, sa mga ghost patients at ang siningil na board and room charges sa outpatient cases.

Sinusipindi ni Pangulong Duterte noong Mayo ang Phihealth premium ng OFWs at ginagawa na lang itong voluntary.

“It’s practically extortion. All OFWs are held hostage from taking up their jobs abroad because they cannot get an overseas employment certificate unless they make an advance payment to Philhealth,” paliwanag ni Marcos.

Diin pa nito, palagi na lang ginagawang ‘gatasan’ ng Philhealth and OFWs.
