Bilang ng bumibiyaheng tradisyunal na jeep sa Metro Manila madaragdagan ng mahigit 1,000 simula sa Aug. 26
Inaprubahan ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang pag-operate ng karagdagang 1,333 Traditional Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ) sa 23 ruta sa Metro Manila simula sa Miyerkules, August 26, 2020.
Base sa Memorandum Circular 2020-040, maaaring bumiyahe ang mga traditional PUJs sa mga rutang nakasaad sa MC kahit walang special permit.
Sa halip na special permit ay bibigyan ng QC Code ang bawat operator bago pumasada.
Maaari i-download ang QR Code mula sa website ng LTFRB (www.ltfrb.gov.ph) simula bukas ng hapon, 25 Agosto 2020.
Kailangan itong i-print ay ipaskil PUJ unit.
Paalala ng ahensya, walang taas-pasahe na ipapatupad maliban na lang kung may ianunsyo ang LTFRB.
Bukod pa sa mga ito, kinakailangan na naka-register sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) ang PUJ unit bilang roadworthy o akma sa pagbiyahe sa kalsada, at mayroong valid Personal Passenger Insurance Policy.
Kabilang din sa mga requirements para mag-operate ang Traditional PUJs ay ang pagsunod sa safety measures alinsunod sa mga alintuntunin ng Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) tulad ng pagsuri sa body temperature, pagsusuot ng face mask/shield at gloves sa lahat ng oras, at ang pag-operate ng 50% maximum passenger capacity ng PUJ.

Sa sandaling maging operational ang 23 bagong ruta, aabot na sa 149 routes para sa tradisyunal na mga jeep ang bibiyahe.
