Maynila, bumili ng P13M halaga ng Remdesivir para gamutin ang mga pasyente ng COVID-19

Bumili ang pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila ng 2,000 vials ng remdesivir na ginagamit para gamutin ang mild, moderate at severe patients ng COVID-19.

Inanunsiyo nina Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso at Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan araw ang pagbili ng P13 million na halaga ng gamot.

Sabi ni Domagoso na nabili sa halagang P6,500 ang kada piraso ng vial na mas mababa sa orihinal na presyo nito na aabot sa halos P20,000 bawat isa.

Paliwanag pa ng alkalde, ang vials ay gagamitin para palakasin ang pagsusumikap ng Maynila na makapagbigay ng mas mahusay na medical treatment para sa COVID-19 patients na naka-confined sa mga ospital sa Maynila.

Nilinaw ni Domagoso na ang remdesivir ay hindi bakuna kundi isa lamang life-saving antiviral medication para sa mild, moderate at severe cases ng COVID-19.

Iginiit naman ni Vice Mayor Lacuna-Pangan, na ang remdesivir ay gagamitin lamang sa mga hospitals. Ang naturang gamot ay hindi mabibili over-the-counter.
