Babala ng DILG, maging maingat vs scammers na nagpapanggap na contact tracers para mangikil

Nagbabala sa publiko ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ukol sa bagong modus kung saan nagpapanggap bilang Department of Health (DOH) contact tracers para mangikil ng pera.

Pinaalerto na ni DILG Secretary Eduardo Año ang local government units (LGUs) at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa mga nasabing scammer sa gitna ng kinakaharap na COVID-19 pandemic.

“Isa pang virus na kailangan pag-ingatan ng mga tao ang mga scammer na ito na sumasabay pa at nakukuhang manamantala ng kapwa ngayong krisis at ito ngang sa DOH ang pinaka-recent. I urge all LGUs and our men and women of the PNP immediately investigate these criminal activities,” pahayag ni Año.

“Hindi na kayo [scammers] naawa sa mga kababayang nating niloloko ninyo,” dagdag pa nito.

Sinabi ng kalihim na unti-unting tumataas ang bilang ng mga nabibiktima ng pangingikil at scam.

“The public must beware. ‘Wag po tayong magpaloko sa mga ito,” paalala pa nito.

Ani Año, ang Contact Tracing Teams ay pinangungunahan ng Local Government Unit at pinangangasiwaan ng DILG.
