Freedom of the press, hindi ABS-CBN ang ipinagtanggol ko – Drilon
Sa pagpuna sa kanya ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, sinabi ni Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon na hindi ang ABS-CBN ang kanyang ipinagtanggol kundi ang freedom of the press at ang 11,000 nagtatrabaho sa broadcast network.
Inulit ni Drilon ang kanyang katuwiran na para mamayani ang demokrasya, kailangan ang malayang pamamahayag at dapat bigyang laya ang mga mamamahayag na gawin ang kanilang trabaho nang walang takot at pinapaboran.
Napakahalaga, ayon pa din kay Drilon, ng ABS CBN para sa pagbibigay impormasyon sa kinakaharap na pandemiya.
“I aired my support for the renewal of franchise of ABS-CBN because undeniably the network complements other stations in providing timely and accurate reportage even in the farthest locality unreachable to others, even to the government,” katuwiran pa ng senador.
Dagdag pa nito, “ I was defending the 11,000 people and their families who would lose jobs amid the pandemic, not the Lopezes.”
